Easy Chocolate Frosting.
This frosting is rich, thick and creamy. And the best part, is that it can be made in a matter of minutes!
There was a time where I never cared to eat cake with frosting…just bake and eat as is. Now, with my eldest daughter, it has become a necessity to frost it whenever I bake a cake. This is the recipe I use at home for our frequent frosted cake cravings, and also for cupcakes that I bake for my daughters birthday parties. BTW, you save ALOT of money on cupcakes if you just do it yourself for parties…lol.
Next time you bake a cake, try out this quick and easy frosting!
Ingredients
1 cup room temperature butter
4 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cups cocoa powder
Pinch of salt or 1/2 teaspoon flaked salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-2 tablespoons milk
Method
Whip the butter in a mixing bowl using your hand or stand mixer for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy. Mix the cocoa powder and the powdered sugar in a separate bowl. Put the mixer on low and add the powdered sugar/cocoa powder mixture in 1/2 cup increments, making sure it mixes through. Scrape down the sides whenever necessary.
Add the vanilla and 1 tablespoon milk; mix well. If you like this consistency, then go ahead and frost your cooled cake with it (like my super easy chocolate cake) . If you prefer it a little thinner, then add 1/2 tablespoon of milk; add 1/2 tablespoon more is desired. Fold in the flaked salt.
Any remaining frosting can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container.
